Things to do
A short 8 minute drive east you will find the charming and friendly village of George Town. Visit the local straw market, charming boutiques and grocery store. Exuma provides a unique cultural experience. Don't expect casinos, fast food restaurants and designer shopping here. This is a low key, laid back island with none of the hustle and bustle of cruise ship ports and tourist destinations.
Swimming Pigs
Take a day trip by boat to the Exuma Cays. See the famous swimming pigs, snorkel the Thunderball Grotto, swim with nurse sharks at Compass Cay, stop at a deserted island to feed iguanas, walk on a sand bar and see the private islands owned by celebrities.

Eat & Drink
You won’t find any fast food chains on Exuma. Most restaurants are resort casual, located poolside or on the beach. Be prepared to relax and enjoy dining on seafood and local fare. Bahamian cuisine includes fish, lobster, crab, conch, pork, tropical fruits, rice and pigeon peas. Local favorites are conch salad, conch fritters, cracked conch and Bahamian Mac n Cheese. Bahamian beer and
rum-based beverages are popular on the island.
There are many locally owned restaurants to enjoy. Several of our favorites are listed here.
